So long, Farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, Adieu... Cafe Dov served it's last Latte over the weekend, but certainly when out with a bang on Saturday night. The eatery, known for it's celebrity sightings, sandstone walls and signature dishes has been an icon in Darlinghurst (Sydney) for many years. Regulars were treated to nibbles, drinks, tunes into the wee hours of the morning. Owner Mathew Onions will be starting up a new joint, Dov at Delectica, on Victoria St. in Potts Point in the coming days. Hopefully the Chicken Salad, Croque Madam and Liver Pate will make the trek.

I had the most boring weekend ever, after making the mistake of going out for a big night on Fiday while recovering from the flu. Needless to say, I am coughing up some things that should teach me a lesson for next time. The combination of hang-over and fever did allow me to catch up on some of the new shows. Hopefully the fact that I was lying in the bathtub while eating ramen noodles didn't taint my opinion.  The O.C.Last years season finale ended with a bang, and a drop of blood... and everything seemed to be resolved pretty damn quick. Josh Schwartz has promised a fantastic season, but now that Oliver II, aka Trey, is out of the way, it seems that there isn't much controversy left. Who knows what kind of Single White Female shiz will go down with 7 of 9. Where did anyone get the idea that Jeri Ryan can act. Maybe her and Mischa should throw some pool furniture around together. Seth still gets the good lines: Seth: I kind of like him (Trey) this way. He's a better listener. (pause) Sorry. I get talkative around coma patients. It's a compensation thing...  The music was a good mix of stand by indie-yuppie artists and some new shiz:"Beretta" by Manishevitz "Hide Another Mistake" by The 88 "Song For No One" by Ian Broudie "Way To Go" by Teen Wolf "Blue Light" (Engineers "Anti-Gravity" Mix) by Bloc Party Ha... I get it, with the Teen Wolf and all!! Hmmm, isn't the Bloc Party putting out a remix CD? I think I saw it on the Target website. Pretty soon Ryan will be wearing Mossimo. The jury is still out on whether Rachel Bilson or Kristen Bell lights up the screen more, I'll let you know after the Veronica Mars premiere. Reunion What a disappointment. It's got Joan of Arcadia disease! Great premise, great story, cute kids, but the direction is absolutely fucked. You can tell the whole cast is trying to work with the clever writing, but working against the tide. I'm hoping that things get better, because I think the whole thing could be very interesting. ...oh and this Sean Faris guy may be the worst actor on T.V... go play with Mischa and Jeri, dude... and there's not much of Mathew St. Patrick... um... not that there's anything wrong with that.  Prison BreakWhere have I been the last few weeks! John Stewart mentioned the show, and I was like, "huh, haven't heard of it"... So I spent Saturday night up until 4 in the morning watching the first three episodes. I love these edgy dramas that everyone is coming up with. Can't wait to watch episode four tonight. Very cool shit... also great to see Robin Tunney without having to support the likes of Arnie. She's a treat to watch.

Surviving in Kiwi Country 101  As a young country, geological, New Zealand covers everything from rain forest to snow covered volcanoes.  Watch out for Hot Lava!  Volcanic protective wear is encouraged!  Sometimes it is tricky to avoid volcanic hazards.  But taunting is not suggested...  Icy indifference may well be the best approach.  Maintaining skills during down-time can be a key to survival.  As the natives can be very aggressive.  Especially when you beat them at their own game.  In the end there's only one way to avoid ending up in the lake of fire.  Blue Steel!!!
